Overview

The Search and Rescue Training Centre (SARTC) forms part of the establishment of the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM). In order to maintain a high level of preparedness in the field of SAR the AFM has made a major investment in setting up the SAR Training Centre.

Primary Role: The primary role of this Centre will be to ensure that all AFM personnel involved in SAR will be capable of operating to the highest standards.

Secondary Role: As the secondary role, it has been identified that the Centre's excess capacity can be best utilised by offering courses to third-party participants, thus serving to further improve relations and co-operation with other SAR organisations primarily in this region.

Mission Statement

Our vision is to be an institution of the highest calibre committed to provide theoratical and practical knowledge on Maritime Search and Rescue planning and operations in order to qualify students up to the standards of the International Maritime Organisation.
