Overview
The Search and
Rescue Training Centre (SARTC) forms part of the establishment of
the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM). In order to maintain a high level
of preparedness in the field of SAR the AFM has made a major investment
in setting up the SAR Training Centre.
Primary
Role: The
primary role of this Centre will be to ensure that all AFM personnel
involved in SAR will be capable of operating to the highest standards.
Secondary
Role: As
the secondary role, it has been identified that the Centre's excess
capacity can be best utilised by offering courses to third-party
participants, thus serving to further improve
relations and co-operation with other SAR organisations primarily
in this region.

Statement
Our vision is
to be an institution of the highest calibre committed to provide
theoratical and practical knowledge on Maritime Search and Rescue
planning and operations in order to qualify students up to the standards
of the International Maritime Organisation.
