Course
Registration
Course registration may be accomplished via mail or fax. On receipt,
the application will be acknowledged by the Training Centre via
email, mail or fax. Once the Centre establishes eligibility and
payment method, the student is booked into the class. All charges
must be prepaid, unless credit has been pre-approved.
Course
Schedules
Course dates and descriptions will be available on the SARTC website
or will be mailed on request.
Costs
Current tuition costs for each course can be obtained on request
from the SARTC.
Attendance
Students are required to attend and remain in class except for authorised
break periods. Any student who is absent for more than ten percent
(10%) of a course (or one-half day in each course week) will be
ineligible to receive a certificate or take the final exam.
The
normal training week is defined as five days, Monday through Friday.
Each day has seven hours of instruction and a one-hour lunch period.
Thus, thirty-five instructional hours constitute a normal training
week. Normal training days start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m.
Drinking
Excessive drinking or drunkenness is frowned upon as it can lead
to inappropriate behavior. Drinking and driving a motor vehicle
is a criminal offence in Malta and can bring severe penalties.
Smoking
Smoking is allowed outside building in designated areas as indicated
by an outside ashtray.
Saluting
The basic rule of saluting is that all other ranks and officers
of lesser grade are required to salute any officer of a higher grade.
The senior officer will return the salute. Saluting is not required
indoors.
Course
Removal
A student may be removed from a course for poor attitude, frequent
tardiness or absence from instruction periods, failure to meet course
requirements, sickness requiring prolonged absence, disciplinary
action, or any other reason that precludes further attendance in
a course.
